Now to the Clan Agnew Castle, Lochnaw Castle, on the small loch or lake east of the town of Stranraer.
The castle was the former home of the Chieftains of Clan Agnew, the Hereditary Sheriffs of Galloway.

In 1268, Lord John Balliol died. His widow, Lady Dervorguilla of Galloway had his embalmed heart placed in an ivory casket
When she died in 1289, Dervoguilla was laid to rest in front of the Church's alter clutching her husbands heart at her bosom.
