Heading to Saskatchewan
On the road again, left campground at about 10:30 AM Central time, arrived in Yorkton, SK at 7:30 PM central time, 6:30 Local time to here. Yep... another timezone change well sort of.. they don't use daylight saving time. On the road, both trucks learned their low fuel limits, driving for a few hundred km after we decided fuel would be good, only to not find any. A call on the CB gave us a tip about an upcoming town that may have fuel, and yes, we were saved, with about 50 KM of fuel range left.
Lazy day.Hot tubing first thing, then off to Sunday brunch at the Best Western in Kenora.Spend some time walking around Kenora’s waterfront.Zaphod got to meet “Husky the Musky” as well as a very big bug
OK, still another day of driving! Heading towards Kenora, on the Lakes of the Woods. Driving is starting to become dull, Little to see, lots of un-interesting small trees, gone are the hill and rocky terrain that was keeping things interesting on the way up. Zaphod is getting bored of the driving and wanting more stops along the way. Spend some time at the truck stop in Dryden so the 'Phod' could go for walk. Arrived at a real campground, where the Werners had been for a few days. Spend most of the evening in the campground's hot tub
Another long day of driving, heading for ThunderBay, along the way we dropped into Wawa to show Zaphod his old friend the 'mega goose'. Spending the night again in a Walmart parking lot, this time however we did get internet connections to the Staples and Future Shop stores in same complex.
Left Milton and drove most of the day, finally arriving at Sault Ste Marie, spending the night at a Walmart parking lot (What do you expect for free camping?)Saw one dead moose, one moose that wanted to attach itself to my bumper, and one dead deer.
